In connection with World Environment Day, Pak Environmental Protection Agency organized a walk in Islamabad on Monday to highlight the importance of environment protection.

People from different walks of life including school children participated in the walk. They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with pro-environment slogans.

Speaking on the occasion, Director General Pak-EPA Farzana Altaf Shah called for collective efforts to curb plastic pollution. She urged the children to utilize reusable water bottles instead of disposable ones.

She paid rich tribute to the climate journalist Shabbir Hussain who lost his life while reporting on climate change.

The participants called upon the developed countries to play their role to deal with the issue of climate change.
