Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to giving a new dimension to cultural and media ties with Uzbekistan. He was speaking to Uzbekistan Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev during a meeting in Islamabad, where both sides engaged in detailed discussions on enhancing cooperation in media, film production, and culture, including collaboration in the filmmaking sector.
According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar emphasized Pakistan's high regard for its relationship with Uzbekistan and expressed a commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors. He noted that options for joint production of short films, documentaries, and drama series in collaboration with Uzbekistan are being considered, highlighting the necessity for experienced production houses to ensure successful project execution.
The Information Minister also mentioned the potential for large-scale film ventures through joint funding, underscoring the importance of showcasing the shared history and rich cultural heritage of Pakistan and Uzbekistan through collaborative media initiatives. Furthermore, Tarar expressed the resolve to expand cooperation between the media institutions of both countries, including exchange visits of journalists to foster mutual understanding and professional collaboration.
The discussions also led to an agreement to promote interaction between social media teams, develop joint digital content, and adopt a coordinated online promotional strategy to highlight the cultural and historical ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the Uzbekistan Ambassador appreciated Pakistan's efforts in promoting peace in the region, especially its contributions to the Islamabad Peace Talks and broader regional peace initiatives.
