Pak Post earns 14percent additional revenue this year: Senate Committee informed

The Senate Standing Committee on Communications was informed on Monday that Pakistan Postal Service has earned fourteen percent more revenue than its target during this year. Briefing the Committee, which met in Islamabad with Senator Prince Ahmed Umer Ahmedzai in the chair, Director General Pakistan Post highlighted the plans for expanding NADRA counters, processing and delivering CNICs, and appointment of eighty five GPOs and 20 officers in this connection. The Committee also addressed the matter of a public petition appealing for the conversion of a project from the BandR Department to National Highway Authority in Balochistan and Punjab. The Committee after detail discussion deferred the matter till Thursday. Regarding recruitments in the National Highway Authority, the Committee was apprised that the process was halted due to ban imposed by the Election Commission of Pakistan in connection with conduct of general elections. It was further briefed that the NHA had approved the Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan as the testing agency for this recruitment. However, the Commission showed inability for conducting of test on the grounds that NHA is an autonomous body. Source: Radio Pakistan
