Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Inter-Governmental Commercial Transactions in Islamabad today. The meeting focused on several key infrastructure and management issues, particularly concerning Islamabad Airport and a significant railway project.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Committee examined a Government-to-Government (G2G) framework for outsourcing the management and operations of Islamabad Airport. After extensive discussions, the Committee instructed the Defence Division to resubmit the proposal with additional details for further consideration.
Additionally, the Committee reviewed a railway project designed to alleviate congestion at the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and support the movement of trade cargo. After thorough deliberations, the Committee decided that the railway project would be financed using domestic resources.
