AJK Residents Dismiss Protest Call by Banned Committee

Mirpur: The people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have rejected the protest call of the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee. The residents in Mirpur expressed concerns that the proposed lockdown would negatively impact businesses and pose an additional burden on daily wage earners. They emphasized that if the protest escalates into violence, it would play into the hands of hostile elements, suggesting instead that the issue be resolved through dialogue.

According to Radio Pakistan, the people reiterated that Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable, and no one will be permitted to create unrest. Contrary to the committee's protest call, markets and business centers in Mirpur have remained open. The residents urged the banned Joint Awami Action Committee to abandon its inflexible stance and engage in negotiations to discuss its demands.

In Rawalakot, business centers and markets have continued to operate as usual. Educational, business, and social activities are ongoing, with traffic fully restored.

In the cities of Muzaffarabad and Bagh, business centers and markets are open. In Muzaffarabad, attendance in both public and private departments remains normal, with academic activities in educational institutions proceeding as usual. Similarly, in Bagh, educational, commercial, and social activities continue normally, with people engaged in their daily routines.
