Islamabad: A meeting of the Steering Committee on preparations for the SAF Games, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, was held in Islamabad. According to Radio Pakistan, the South Asian Olympic Committee has finalized the dates for the Games, which will take place from April 4th to 11th, 2027. The meeting also saw the approval of the appointment of a National Coordinator along with the composition of the Steering, Organizing, and Provincial Committees. The Games will feature a total of twenty-eight sports, with participation from over 6,000 athletes and officials. Events are set to take place across various locations, including Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar directed all relevant authorities to maintain close coordination, ensure the timely completion of venues, and uphold high standards for the successful hosting of the Games. He further instructed the Steering Committee to convene monthly to monitor progress.
