Islamabad: Chairman of Pakistan Business Council Ziad Bashir and its Chief Executive Officer Javed Kureishi held a meeting with Advisor to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad in Islamabad today. They discussed measures aimed at promoting investment, strengthening private-sector participation, and advancing the government's broader structural reform agenda. According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions included the proposed privatization of power distribution companies (DISCOs), banks, and airports. The emphasis was on improving efficiency, attracting investment, and enhancing service delivery through greater private-sector participation. The Advisor highlighted the importance of continued consultation with the business community in shaping economic policies and reforms. He noted that constructive government-business dialogue is essential for building investor confidence, improving the business environment, and developing practical and sustainable reform measures.
