Islamabad: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary has emphasized that Pakistan and the UAE have maintained excellent longstanding relations. Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Opposition Leader Raja Nasir Abbas and others in the Senate, he stated that there are about two million Pakistanis residing in the UAE. He highlighted that the UAE is among the nations with which Pakistan shares deep people-to-people ties, a sentiment that is highly valued by the UAE.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs clarified that the UAE, as a sovereign and independent country, has undertaken some administrative actions following the US-Iran conflict. However, he categorically rejected claims that Pakistan was being singled out, labeling such assertions as baseless propaganda.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar addressed issues raised by Aon Abbas, assuring that there is no shortage of wheat in the country. He noted that the wheat production this year was satisfactory despite unexpected weather conditions and mentioned the stability in wheat-flour prices.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary, responding to a point of order, explained that the Punjab government has executed comprehensive actions against the dacoits in the Katcha areas, ensuring that no-go areas no longer exist in the province. He also mentioned the provincial government's announcement of a development package for these regions.
In other legislative developments, the Senate passed seven bills, including the Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Limitation Amendment Bill, 2026, and the Export-Import Bank of Pakistan Amendment Bill, 2026, among others. The House has now been prorogued.
