Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif says the PTI Chief Imran Khan wants an NRO from the coalition government to get rid of all the cases against him.

Talking to a private television channel, he said the PTI government, led by Imran Khan, has left the country in shambles.

The Minister said it is not easy to resolve all the problems, particularly economic mess, created by the PTI government within few months.

Commenting on the appointment of new Army Chief, he said, the PTI is crossing red line by making security and judicial matters controversial.

President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan needs to adopt latest technology to enhance agricultural production to counter the effects of climate change.

He was addressing the Youth Forum of Kazakhstan, Turkiye and Pakistan on Bio Technology in Islamabad on Tuesday. He said we will have to work on food security keeping in view the climate change.

He said Pakistan's production of food grains is half as compared to the production of other countries. He said it is inevitable to enhance agricultural production by using latest technology.

The President said the Muslim Ummah will have to change its mind-set by keeping in mind the changes taking place in the world.

President Dr Arif Alvi stressed the need for ethical and morality-based research and development in agriculture and egalitarian distribution of its benefits to provide food security to the entire world without discrimination between rich and poor countries.

He urged the Muslim world to take intellect-driven right decisions at right time for their people.

He argued that the Muslim world should be the first to adopt and generate new knowledge and bring innovation in every sector to cater needs of coming generations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commended the initiative of protecting the Dadu Grid Station from the floods through the creation of an embankment of three kilometres within 36 hours by the civil and military authorities.

In a tweet on Tuesday, he also congratulated the National Highway Authority for removing landslide on the M-8 between Ratodero and Khuzdar.

The Prime Minister is personally monitoring the restoration work. Reports are being presented to him in this regard on daily basis.

Operational sections of Gawadar-Ratodero Motorway M-8 have been opened for traffic. Landsliding has been cleared from the motorway at Wangu Hills place.

Timergara-Bajaur transmission line has been restored whilst routine operations have also been restored on Bajaur and Munda Grid Stations.

Adviser to the Prime Minister for Political, Public Affairs, National Heritage and Culture Engineer Amir Muqam has said that it is the national responsibility of literary persons to use the power of their pen to end ignorance and inculcate positive and constructive thinking among the masses.

He stated this during his visit to Pakistan Academy of Letters in Islamabad on Tuesday where he was warmly received by the Chairman PAL and senior officials of the Academy. Federal Secretary National Heritage and Culture Fareena Mazhar was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Adviser said that literary activities are indispensible for promotion of peace, tolerance and generosity among the people. He said that PAL should organize more literary activities to promote literature of the country of all national languages.

Advisor to Prime Minister also planted a sapling in the lawn of the Academy.
