Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Calls for Cooperation from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Islamabad:Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to change its stance and fully cooperate with the federal government in the war against terrorism.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted the issue while addressing senior journalists at Parliament House. He noted that the provincial government currently lacks administrative control in 12 districts, including eight former tribal districts and four settled districts.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry emphasized the unique status of Islamabad, pointing out that it houses sensitive state installations, foreign diplomats, and embassies. He asserted that no protest march would be allowed to enter the capital.

He also warned that under the Constitution, the federal government has the authority to declare an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi continues to withhold cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
