Gilgit: Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Shahbaz Khan has issued the schedule for the 2026 general elections to the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly.

According to Radio Pakistan, nomination papers will be submitted from Monday to the 22nd of this month. The final lists of candidates will be published by the Returning Officers on the 12th of next month, and the election symbols will be allotted on January 13.

Polling for the general elections of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly will be held on January 24. The press release states that the Election Commission is taking all necessary steps to hold free, transparent, and fair elections.
