Saudi Arabia, Norway to provide water, sanitation for Somali refugees

Riyadh, (UNA-OIC) - The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) signed on Thursday a joint agreement with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) aimed to improve access to potable water and sanitation for refugees in Somalia. The agreement is amounted to cost $2 million.

The agreement was signed by the General Manager of KSRelief Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah and Abeer Shobasi, the Gulf Region Director of the NRC, at the headquarters of the Relief Center in Riyadh.

The agreement aims to provide drinking water and water for sanitary use, as well as to provide training and health education for those in the most affected areas of Somalia.

Shobasi expressed her pleasure over signing the first working agreement in Somalia between the NRC and the King Salman Relief Center. She hoped the agreement would be a good start and a strategic partnership between the two sides in the near future.
