Russia, North Korea express desire to expand bilateral ties

Russia and North Korea have expressed the desire to expand bilateral relations to frustrate threats and provocations from hostile forces.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in a letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said closer ties would help strengthen the security and stability of the Korean peninsula and the Northeastern Asian region.

Kim also sent a letter to Putin saying the strategic cooperation and solidarity between the two countries has since reached a new level.
