Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Saeed Ahmed Sheikh says Radio Pakistan is committed to ensure credible and smooth coverage of the General Elections 2024 as per expectations of its listeners. Speaking in Radio Pakistan's Special Election Transmission, he said people trust the information provided by Radio Pakistan as they consider it the most credible source of information. He said we have set up an organized Election Cell to ensure the smooth coverage of General Elections 2024. He said we will apprise the results of the general elections to our listeners as announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan. He said elections are considered as an important element of any democratic society. Commending the caretaker government's effort regarding conducting free and fair elections, he said Radio Pakistan also tried its level best to keep its listeners abreast of the electoral process. The DG Radio Pakistan said it is the policy of Radio Pakistan to provide credible news and our reporters an d producers from across the country are ensuring authentic and credible news and voice reports with regard to the coverage of elections. He said we utilized all the available resources in a judicious manner regarding coverage of elections. He said Radio Pakistan has also been equipped with the latest equipment in accordance with the requirements of modern era. He said Radio Pakistan is now fully active on all social media platforms. He said Radio Pakistan always emerged as an effective medium of information during natural calamity or disaster as well. Speaking in the program, Director News and Current Affairs Aman Ullah Sipra said we have prepared a comprehensive plan for the coverage of elections, including starting a marathon transmission that will continue till the completion of the announcement of results. The Director News PBC said a designated booth has been established at Election Commission Office by Radio Pakistan on the pattern of Election City for the live coverage of results. He said without any delay, we will provide the credible details of election results to our listeners and viewers. He said our whole content is also available at our website and social media platforms. Aman Ullah Sipra said being the national broadcaster, Radio Pakistan is fulfilling its responsibility by providing credible news to public. He expressed the resolve to make the news section more vibrant through completion of its digitization process. Taking part in the program, Director Program Riffat Qayyum commended the tireless efforts of programme staff, reporters and newspersons of Radio Pakistan who covered the entire electoral process in a professional manner. She said the Radio Team not only covered the electoral process but also conducted an awareness campaign to encourage voters to exercise their right to vote.
