Baku: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that 2,000 villages across the province are being equipped with modern facilities under the Model Village Programme. She made this statement while addressing the World Urban Forum in Baku today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister emphasized that highways and infrastructure projects are being developed to improve connectivity in Punjab, with consideration for climate change challenges. She highlighted the government's focus on promoting tourism as part of their developmental agenda.
Maryam Nawaz also noted that Lahore has been recognized as an important cultural city by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). As part of urban development initiatives, a comprehensive sanitation system has been implemented in Lahore under the 'Suthra Punjab Project'. To maintain law and order, CCTV monitoring is being carried out across the province.
