Punjab Govt Allocates Rs3.3bn for Hockey Grounds Across 11 Districts

Lahore: Punjab government has announced that it will spend funds worth three point three billion rupees to construct hockey grounds in eleven districts during the next fiscal year for promoting the national game. This development was communicated by Parliamentary Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, Anas Mehmood Malik, during the Questions Hour in the Punjab Assembly session held in Lahore. According to Radio Pakistan, the announcement is part of the government's efforts to enhance sports infrastructure and encourage youth participation in hockey, which holds a significant place in the country's sports history. The investment aims to provide better facilities and training grounds for budding hockey players, which could potentially uplift the standards of the game in the region. In the same session, the House passed several bills, including 'The Provincial Employees' Social Security Amendment Bill 2026', 'The Chenab University of Science and Technology Rahim Yar Khan Bill 2026', and 'The Punjab Housing an d Town Planning Amendment Bill 2026'. These legislative measures indicate the government's commitment to social welfare, educational advancement, and urban development.
