President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the youth to put in all their passionate efforts for development and prosperity of the country.

Addressing inaugural session of a two-day National Youth Convention in Islamabad on Wednesday, the President asked the youth to lay special focus on their character building, always stand by truth and against corruption and dishonesty.

He said the youth should be proud and confident of their country which is a nuclear power, has shown heroic resilience in war against terror, set an example of generosity by hosting millions of Afghan refugees and actively engaged in welfare works whenever any natural calamity struck the country.

The President asked the youth to realize their true potential keeping in view the strengths of the nation.

The two-day event being hosted by Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies is being attended by youth from across the country.

The convention aims at bringing together the ethnically, culturally, religiously and socially diverse young leaders at one platform under the theme ‘Hamara Pakistan’.

The forum will provide the youth an opportunity to interact with and learn from professionals from different fields including education, economy, science, technology and business.
