Power Tariff hike on the cards – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi: The National Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has allowed power distribution companies to raise power tariff by PKR 1.77 per unit on account of power generated by Saphire, Saif, Halmore and Orient through High Speed Diesel (HSD) owing to gas shortage, increase in furnace oil prices from PKR 44,000 to PKR 64,000/ton while, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) purchased electricity produced on Residual Fuel Oil (RFO) which is costlier as compared to gas and water.

According to Alfalah Securities Limited, However, the consumers of KESC would not have an impact of the recent power tariff hike.
