Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has announced an upcoming weather event, forecasting rain-windstorms and thundershowers across several regions of the country from Saturday to Monday. According to Radio Pakistan, the Meteorological Department highlighted the potential for landslides in vulnerable areas, including Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Moreover, the department warned of rising water levels in local streams and nullahs in these regions, as well as in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan. Additionally, the department issued a cautionary note regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall leading to localized urban flooding. Cities at risk include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Faisalabad. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed of further updates from relevant authorities.
