PM thanks IDB President for his support to Pakistan flood victims

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with President of Islamic Development Bank, Dr Muhammad Al-Jasser on the sidelines of International Conference on Resilient Pakistan in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday.

Speaking on this occasion, President Islamic Development Bank assured the Prime Minister of full cooperation for rehabilitation of the flood affected people.

He further assured that the Bank will continue to help Pakistani brothers and sisters, who are in trouble due to the recent floods in the country.

Dr Al-Jasser said that Pakistan is an important country for the Islamic Development Bank.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the IDB President for his support to the flood victims and his cooperation with Pakistan.

He informed the President IDB about the government's steps to reduce the dependence on imported fuel in Pakistan and use of renewable energy sources.

The Prime Minister also apprised him about the government's plan to generate 10,000 MW of electricity from solar energy, which will not only enable the government to generate low-cost and environment-friendly electricity, but also reduce the bill of imported fuel.
