PM Shehbaz vows to leave no stone unturned to rehabilitate flood victims

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government will leave no stone unturned in rehabilitation of flood affected people of the country.

He was talking to the media in Balon area of Balochistan, after visiting flood-hit Bibi Nani bridge on Sunday.

He appreciated Pak Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan and district administration for successfully rescuing six thousand people who were stranded on both sides of this bridge.

The Prime Minister said due to efforts of vigilant labourers the supply of Natural Gas to Quetta, Pishin, Ziarat, Kalat and other areas, would be restored today.

He announced an honorarium of three million rupees for labourers who worked for restoration of the gas pipeline.

Prime Minister also reviewed work on rehabilitation of flood affected roads and railways infrastructure in the area.

The Chairman National Highway Authority Khurram Agha gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister during an aerial view of the damaged railway bridge at Bibi Nani and the restoration work on Pinjra Bridge which was completely swept away by the floods.

The Prime Minister appreciated the dedication of workers and announced five million rupees for the labours working on restoration of a destroyed bridges.

Earlier, upon his arrival, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Chief Secretary and other high ranking officers received the Prime Minister at Quetta Airport.

Meanwhile, talking to a delegation of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lahore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the role of business community in relief operations and rehabilitation of flood affected people is very important.

He said that in this difficult time, we can achieve success in this world and hereafter only by actively participating in the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims with national passion.

On the occasion, the Chamber also presented a check of a substantial amount to the Prime Minister for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims.
