PM Expresses Satisfaction Over Approval of $1 Billion Tranche for Pakistan by IMF


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the approval of a one billion dollar tranche for Pakistan by the International Monetary Fund and the failure of India’s tactics against it.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister praised the performance of the government’s economic team, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Secretary Finance Imdadullah Bosal in this regard.



The Prime Minister highlighted that Pakistan’s economic situation has improved and the country is progressing towards development. He accused India of attempting to divert attention from Pakistan’s progress through unilateral aggression and stated that international institutions have responsibly rejected India’s propaganda as attempts to sabotage the IMF program have failed.



Shehbaz Sharif stated that the IMF program will help stabilize Pakistan’s economy and support long-term recovery. The government is focusing on priority areas such as tax reform, improved energy sector performance, and private sector development.



The Prime Minister noted that positive economic indicators in the last 14 months reflect the government’s prudent policies and reiterated the government’s commitment to economic stability, effective performance, and sustainable planning.
