Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued instructions for immediate action on the forecast of heavy rainfall in the last week of this month.

According to Prime Minister Office, he directed the concerned ministries and departments to alert the provinces and district administrations.

The Prime Minister said arrangements should be made now in low-lying areas and steps should be taken for precautionary security arrangements and availability of relief equipment.

In this regard, the Prime Minister asked to formulate a comprehensive strategy through joint action of federation and provinces.

The Prime Minister also directed to take measures to protect crops, livestock and avoid losses in agricultural areas.
