PM condemns suicide blast in Islamabad

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while strongly condemning the suicide blast in Islamabad, has sought report from the police.

In a statement, the Prime Minister paid homage to the martyred Police Constable Adeel Hussain.

The Prime Minister said the entire nation salutes their valiant police personnel, who sacrificed lives and stopped the terrorists.

He said the nation will continue its fight against complete elimination of terrorism.

The Prime Minister also expressed sympathies with the injured and directed to provide best treatment facilities to them.

He also directed the IG Police to confer awards on the police personnel for their extraordinary bravery.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has paid glowing tribute to the Islamabad Police for their dedication and devotion in performing duty.

In a statement, he said the martyr's package will be given to Shaheed Constable Adeel Hussain.

Giving details of the blast, the Interior Minister said a vehicle full of explosives entered Islamabad from IJP Road Rawalpindi with a male and a female terrorist riding inside.

He said the vehicle loaded with ammunition was dispatched to target high value targets in the federal capital.

The Minister said the Eagle squad of Police on suspicion stopped it. Upon this, a blast took place in the vehicle resulting in the casualties.

He said due to the devotion of the police, Islamabad averted a major tragedy.

Expressing sympathy with the family of the martyred police Constable, Rana Sanaullah prayed for early recovery of the injured.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb also strongly condemning the blast, paid homage to the valour of Islamabad Police for averting major disaster.
