Planning Minister directs to resolve issues being faced by scholars studying in USA

Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has directed the Finance Division to immediately resolve the issues being faced by the scholars during the studies in the USA under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor project initiative by the Higher Education Commission HEC.

The Pakistan-US Corridor was conceptualized in June 2015 by the Planning Minister under the vision of 2025 to boost cooperation between the two countries in the education sector.

Under the plan, 10,000 Pakistani scholars will join US universities in the next ten years as an effort of the government to train its faculty resources in identified subject areas.

The Planning Minister while reviewing the progress during a meeting today directed the Finance Division to immediately release their dues so that they can continue their studies.

During the meeting HEC gave a detailed briefing over the project.
