Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb addressed MENAP Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting in Washington D.C. He expressed Pakistan’s interest in seeking technical support from the IMF for institutional capacity-building and supported the World Bank’s agenda of job creation through private sector-led growth.
According to Radio Pakistan, the finance minister highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional frameworks as a means to enhance economic stability and growth in Pakistan. By seeking the IMF’s technical support, Pakistan aims to bolster its economic structures, potentially leading to more sustainable development outcomes.
In his address, Aurangzeb also underscored the role of the private sector in driving job creation, aligning with the World Bank’s focus on leveraging private enterprise to stimulate economic activity. The minister’s remarks come amidst ongoing efforts to navigate economic challenges and foster a resilient economic environment in Pakistan.
