Pakistan and Trkiye Strengthen Security Cooperation with New Agreement

Istanbul:Pakistan and Trkiye have signed an agreement aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fight against terrorism, narcotics trafficking, and organized crime. This agreement was signed by Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Turkish counterpart Mustafa Ciftci.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two countries have agreed to establish a Joint Working Group to bolster the cooperation between their interior ministries. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral ties.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the positive outcomes of Pakistan's efforts against illegal immigration, which have contributed to a significant decline in such activities. Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci praised these efforts, noting a reduction in the illegal immigration rate from Pakistan to Trkiye from seventy percent to seventeen percent.

Both nations also agreed to enhance bilateral collaboration through technical assistance, expert exchanges, and joint initiatives. Discussions during the meeting included topics such as cyber policing, the Anti-Narcotics Force, and the National Police Academy, signaling a comprehensive approach to security cooperation.
