New york: Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, recently met with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, on the sidelines of the UN Security Council Open Debate. The meeting took place in New York, United States.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to the UN Charter, state sovereignty, and territorial integrity. They emphasized the importance of the Global South's voice in establishing a fair international order. Both officials expressed satisfaction with the historic defense ties between their countries and praised the strong momentum generated under the leadership of Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev.

The discussions concluded with an agreement to enhance economic cooperation. This will be achieved by optimizing the existing frameworks of the Preferential Trade Agreement and Transit Trade Agreement. Additionally, the two nations aim to expand their cooperation in energy and LNG sectors, marking a significant step forward in their bilateral relations.
