Pakistan, Afghanistan express desire to enhance bilateral trade
Pakistan and Afghanistan have expressed desire to enhance bilateral trade by overcoming existing challenges.
The understanding was reached at a meeting between Secretary Commerce Muhammad Younus Dagha and Afghan Deputy Minister for Commerce Kamila Sidiqi in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The two sides resolved to make all out efforts to remove impediments hampering bilateral and transit trade.
They decided to increase interaction at technical and policy levels for the prompt resolution of issue from time to time.
It was also agreed that the institutional mechanism between the two countries needs to be strengthened and holding of 7th Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Coordination Authority meeting by the Afghan side is the need of the hour.
