Congress leader P Chidambaram has said on August 5, 2019, the illegal dismembering of Jammu and Kashmir took place.

In an interview, he said Indian Parliament has become dysfunctional and democracy is gasping for breath in the country with almost all institutions tamed, emasculated or captured.
