OGRA slashes LPG price after petroleum levy – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi: OGRA has fixed maximum reasonable consumer price of LPG at PkR 115 per kg after imposition of Petroleum Levy (PL) on locally produced LPG.

According to Alfalah Securities, The local LPG producers are restricted to pass on the PL to the end consumers by introducing a price ceiling. The PL has been imposed on local LPG under the LPG Policy 2011 so as to bring the local producer prices at par with the imported LPG prices which includes import cost (Cost + Freight) overheads. Total local LPG production is ~1,208 tons per day (tpd) contributed mainly by Parco and Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL).

Market Outlook:
Buy on dips.
