Makkah Joint Defence Agreement Committee Meeting Convenes in Istanbul

Islamabad: The inaugural meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee, established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, is set to take place in Istanbul, Trkiye today. This significant gathering will mark the commencement of discussions aimed at enhancing political and defense collaborations among the participating nations.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting will see the representation of Pakistan by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The gathering will also be attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Ministers of Defence, and Chiefs of General Staff from the Republic of Trkiye and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The participation of Pakistan in this meeting underscores its longstanding ties of friendship with Trkiye and Saudi Arabia. It also reflects Pakistan's commitment to fostering regional peace and stability through collaborative efforts and strategic dialogues.
