Kuwaiti emir, Iraqi president discuss ways of enhancing bilateral ties

Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met here on Sunday with Iraqi President Barham Salih, who was visiting Kuwait as part of his first Gulf tour since taking office last month.

In a statement, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah said that the talks dealt with enhancing bilateral relations between Kuwait and Iraq, as well as the continued efforts to strengthen joint cooperation in various fields. He added that the two sides also discussed means of supporting the security and stability of Iraq to ensure its unity and territorial integrity, in addition to the efforts to combat terrorism.

According to the statement, the talks further touch on the issues of mutual interest and the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.
