KSRelief Launches 3rd Cycle of Food Security Support Project in Pakistan


Islamabad: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has initiated the third cycle of its Food Security Support Project in Pakistan for the current year. The launch ceremony, held in Islamabad, was attended by Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Country Director of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Pakistan Abdullah Al-Baqami, and other officials.



According to Radio Pakistan, the project aims to distribute 30,000 food packages across 34 of the most vulnerable districts in Pakistan, benefiting over 210,000 individuals. This initiative builds on the success of the first two cycles, during which 60,000 food packages were distributed across 61 districts in regions such as Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.



The project is being implemented in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority, Provincial Disaster Management Authorities, and other local partners. During the launch, Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized that the humanitarian aid program highlights the strong brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.



He also expressed appreciation for the leadership of Saudi Arabia, particularly King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for their ongoing support to Pakistan during challenging times. Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki reiterated his country’s commitment to extending cooperation to Pakistan in various fields.
