Karachi: Karachi Electric Supply Company has resumed operations in Godhra after police arrested both the murderers of late Qamar Alam, Lineman, who was killed in North Karachi on Aug. 14. KESC has announced commitment to fight his case till justice is executed and exemplary punishment is awarded to the murderers.
In addition to all statutory dues, KESC has decided to grant a lump sum amount of Rs. 3,00,000 to the family of the late lineman and to bear school expenses of his children from KESC’s Employees Support Fund.
Late Mr. Alam was attending to local fault with his colleagues in Makkah Colony in North Karachi area on August 14, 2011, when Haji Ahmed ordered his son Faizan to kill all KESC team members. Faizan opened fire with pistol first at another lineman, Nazar Mohammad, who fortunately escaped the bullet. Later the killer fired directly at Mr. Alam who was on the ladder at that time. He received the bullet in his chest and expired on the spot.
A large number of eyewitnesses from the locality testified to the identity of the murderers, leaving no doubts for law to take its course. After this tragic incident KESC immediately stopped business operations and repair work in the area till arrest of the culprits. KESC lodged an FIR with New Karachi Police Station against two killers, belonging to a religio-political party.
KESC has expressed hope that law would take its due course and justice would be executed beyond any hesitation and doubt. KESC also hoped that court of law would award exemplary punishment to killers.
