Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has said the journalists need to align themselves with the latest global trends in technology and media for a secure economic future. He made these remarks while addressing a condolence reference organized in memory of the late journalist Pervaiz Shaukat at the Press Information Department in Islamabad today. The Information Minister underscored that digital media represents the future of the industry, highlighting the imperative to establish digital institutions with enhanced editorial systems and specialized focus. Highlighting the importance of specialization in a particular field of journalism, he mentioned that those who pursued this path became successful journalists and gained recognition in the media. He also called for the skill development of journalists in both technology and a specific field of journalism. The Information Minister paid glowing tributes to the services of the late Journalist Pervaiz Shaukat, spanning over four decades. He said Pervaiz Shaukat consistently raised his voice for the economic rights of journalists at various platforms, including the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
