Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has expressed strong condemnation of the Indian Supreme Court's decision to reject the bail plea of the party's detained President, Shabbir Ahmad Shah. The court's refusal to grant interim bail comes despite concerns over Shah's deteriorating health. According to Radio Pakistan, the Indian Supreme Court denied bail to Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a case initiated by the National Investigation Agency. This decision has drawn criticism from the JKDFP, which accuses the judiciary of making politically motivated decisions rather than delivering justice. In a statement issued in Srinagar, JKDFP spokesperson Advocate Arshad Iqbal criticized the Indian judiciary for its perceived bias and emphasized the urgent need to address Shah's worsening health condition. The spokesperson called on international human rights bodies to intervene and pressure India to release Shabbir Shah and other political detainees in Kashmir.
