Int’l Nurses Day: Ceremony held in ICT to pay tributes to nursing community

A colorful event to commemorate International Nurses Day, to be observed on Friday, was held in Islamabad on Thursday with an aim to pay tributes to the nursing community for their invaluable services to the humanity.

The ceremony was jointly organized by Dr Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, Islamabad Medical and Dental College (IMDC) and Islamabad Nursing College (INC).

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the institution Dr Ghulam Akbar Khan Niazi and Managing Director Yasir Khan said this day is a true celebration to recognize the services of nurses in our beloved country and across the globe.

They said without improving the nursing care, health sector cannot be improved.

Principal IMDC Prof Dr Syed Irfan Ahmed, Executive Director ANTH Col (Retd) Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Abbasi, Director Dr Areej Neyazi and Chief Nursing Officer Riffat Farzana along with other top management officials were also present on this occasion.

They acknowledged and appreciated nurses' dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to provide exceptional care to the patients.

A large number of students and nursing staff of the hospital presented tableaus and performances on national songs. A cake cutting ceremony was also held on this occasion.

The Chairman and Managing Director distributed awards and certificates among nurses in acknowledgement of their immeasurable contributions in care giving.
