Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Tahir Hassan has commended the role of Radio Pakistan Lahore in promoting various genres of literature, including culture and drama as well as in providing a strong foundation for character-building and institutionalization.

He said this in a felicitation message on the 85th anniversary of Radio Pakistan Lahore on Saturday.

The Director General said Radio Pakistan Lahore is a jewel in the crown of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation that has not only performed its responsibilities as a Broadcasting House but has also played a role of an academy.

He said this historic role of Radio Pakistan Lahore is a source of pride and it also brings a sense of utmost responsibility.

Urging workers of Radio Pakistan Lahore, he said being successors of eminent artists and writers, who have set new traditions, it is your responsibility to keep this beacon of light alighted so that its radiance can enthrall the listeners.
