Head of Libya’s Presidential Council meets deputy UN envoy in Tripoli
Head of the Presidential Council of the Libyan National Reconciliation Government Fayez Al-Sarraj met here on Sunday with Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Political Affairs in Libya Ambassador Stephanie T. Williams.
During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Presidential Council, the two sides discussed the latest political situation in the North African country. They also reviewed the arrangements taken by the government for the success of the electoral process.
Sarraj and Ms. Williams agreed that work for the electoral process and other tracks of the political solution to the Libyan crisis should be carried out under the umbrella of the United Nations.
According to the Information Office of the Presidential Council, Ambassador Williams expressed her appreciation for Sarraj's efforts to achieve stability, address the political and economic challenges in the country and strengthen the rule of law.
