Federal Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam says that government is fully committed to facilitate farmers and their issues would be resolved on top priority.
Speaking at a joint news conference with Punjab Minister for Agriculture Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi in Multan on Sunday he said that steps are being taken to provide latest technology to farmers in order to decrease their expenses and increase their produce.
The Minister said that targets of agriculture crops have been achieved despite locust attacks.
He said efforts are being made to provide certified cotton seed to farmers in order to increase the cotton production.
Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Minister for Agriculture Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi said that work is in progress on different projects worth 300 billion Rupees under Prime Minister’s Agriculture Emergency Program.
He said that the Punjab Seed Council has approved 147 new seed varieties of different crops.
