Islamabad: The first public consultation on the proposed governance model for Islamabad was held in the federal capital today. Addressing the event, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that the proposed governance model aims to address Islamabad's administrative and representational gaps in line with the aspirations of its people.
According to Radio Pakistan, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal highlighted the importance of preserving the ecology of Islamabad while undertaking development projects, envisioning the city as an ecological capital of the world. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also addressed the gathering, reiterating the government's commitment to improving governance in Islamabad as directed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stressed the need to tackle the disparity between the rural and urban areas within the Islamabad Capital Territory and assured that other segments of society would also be consulted in the process.
