Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee has approved the disposal of 500,000 metric tons of wheat stock held by PASSCO through competitive bidding. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. According to Radio Pakistan, the committee decided on the sale of 500,000 metric tons of wheat on a First-In-First-Out basis. The revised reserve prices were set at 4,150 rupees per 40 kilogrammes for local wheat and 3,800 rupees per 40 kilogrammes for imported wheat. Additionally, the ECC approved 536 million rupees for Public Sector Development Programme projects of the defunct Pakistan Public Works Department. This amount will be allocated to the Governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for specific ongoing projects, adhering to legal and constitutional guidelines.
