A number of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects are making renewed progress as the CPEC enters its next phase. According to a report of Global Times, the Karot hydropower project, a 720 megawatt hydropower plant developed on the Jhelum River in Pakistan, has generated a total of 3.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in 2023. Talking to Global Times, Pakistan's Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi told that the next phase of CPEC would be advanced in a multi-prong fashion, with progress in connectivity, industrialization, and agriculture. He said that the projects including the optimization of the ML-1 railway project and the realignment of the Karakoram Highway are expected to see concrete progress.
