Islamabad: Minister for Foreign Affairs of Canada, Anita Anand, has reiterated that Canada stands ready to support talks in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Anita Anand communicated this commitment in a recent post on her X handle. Over the last few days, she has engaged in several conversations with her Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, focusing on the evolving situation in the Middle East. During these discussions, Dar shared that new negotiations are scheduled to take place later this week.

Anand expressed gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for Pakistan's ongoing efforts, including its role in facilitating the current two-week ceasefire. The Canadian Foreign Minister emphasized the mutual agreement on the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and extending it to Lebanon. Both parties agreed to stay in close contact as discussions progress.
