Minister for Poverty Alleviation Shazia Marri has said that Benazir Income Support Programme has started the financial assistance of Transgender community through cash disbursement.

The minister expressed these views while addressing via zoom-link, a conference in Islamabad on Monday.

The conference was titled “Financial Inclusion among Transgender Community in Pakistan.

She urged the community to take benefit from the scheme and visit the nearest BISP Tehsil office, along with CNIC, for registration.

Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme Shazia Marri said financial issues, awareness among masses, and acceptance in society are the top the list of issues being faced by the vulnerable and marginalized segment, particularly the transgender community of Pakistan.
