Islamabad: Air Commodore ® Khalid Chishti, a defense analyst, emphasized that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) executed an operation that caught India off guard. The PAF's strategic response to India's hostility was a significant factor in forcing India to ceasefire. Pakistani civilians, the government, and armed forces demonstrated restraint over two days, but persistent Indian aggression necessitated a decisive reply from the Pakistani military. The use of drones by India indicated frustration over their inability to inflict damage on Pakistan. In response, the Pakistani armed forces effectively targeted and destroyed India's S-400 air defense system, known for its capability to intercept missiles and aircraft within a 400-kilometer range. The operation showcased the prowess of Pakistani fighter pilots, who successfully downed a French-made Rafale jet, marking a historic achievement. This operation, dubbed Bunyan un Marsoos, compelled India to seek a ceasefire, an outcome not anticipated by Indian leadership no r discussed by the US amidst India's aggressive stance. According to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Salma Mehar Malik, an international relations expert, commended the Pakistani forces and nation for their resilience and bravery against India. Despite India's reluctance to de-escalate, Pakistan's robust diplomatic and military responses forced India to request a ceasefire. Initially, the US believed India could manage Pakistan on its own but shifted its stance in light of Pakistan's resilience. Moving forward, Dr. Malik advocates for Pakistan to engage in strong diplomacy to secure regional and international support, as US mediation alone may not suffice for sustained peace in the region. She criticized Indian Prime Minister Modi for eroding global confidence and suggested that restoring the Indus Water Treaty should be a condition for any ceasefire. Dr. Malik stressed that Pakistan had always been open to dialogue, a path Modi declined, thus endangering regional stability and millions of lives. The recent conflict und erscored India's miscalculation of Pakistan's military and technological capabilities, with Pakistan emerging victorious in the recent confrontations.
