He underscored the urgent need for a ceasefire, noting Pakistan's efforts to act as a mediator among the involved parties. According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan is actively engaging with key regional players to facilitate dialogue and reduce tensions. Turkish President Erdogan has also advocated for an immediate ceasefire, citing escalating tensions that threaten the security of the entire Gulf region. The conflict is causing disruptions in global supply chains and impacting the prices of daily commodities, making peacemaking efforts imperative for the international community. Amb. Khalid further remarked on recent statements by US President Donald Trump, who indicated a desire to conclude the hostilities, acknowledging the rising costs of war for the United States. He noted, however, that superpowers often have significant egos, which may delay dialogue. Amb. Khalid emp hasized the importance of adhering to the UN charter as a solution to this and other global conflicts, highlighting that the international community should strive to avoid a world where might dictates right. He also pointed out that, under the NPT treaty, Iran has the right to enrich uranium and should not be attacked based on assumptions.
