NDMA Warns of Elevated Landslide Risk in KP

Islamabad: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, elevated landslide risk is likely across vulnerable mountainous areas from tomorrow until Saturday.

According to Radio Pakistan, landslides, rock falls, and debris movement may result in temporary or prolonged blockage of vulnerable road sections, particularly along the Karakoram Highway and other mountainous access roads.

Such incidents may disrupt traffic, isolate remote communities, and delay emergency response and cause damage to roads, bridges, retaining walls, and other infrastructure. Sudden slope failures may also pose a direct threat to motorists, travelers, local communities, and settlements located near unstable slopes.

Local authorities and travelers should remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel along landslide-prone mountainous roads and adjoining routes.
