Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly rejected the immature remarks made by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs in yet another demonstration of their chronic tendency to distort facts and twist statements out of context. Responding to media queries about the remarks attributed to Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the Indian narrative of an alleged 'nuclear blackmail' is a misleading and self-serving construct.

According to Radio Pakistan, the spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan remains firmly opposed to the use or threat of use of force. He criticized India's sabre rattling and war mongering, noting that such actions invite unfounded allegations lacking rationality. The spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear weapon state with an elaborate command and control structure under full civilian control, and it has always exercised discipline and restraint on issues of such importance.

The spokesperson highlighted Pakistan's internationally-acknowledged counterterrorism efforts, stating that the country's security forces are a bulwark against terrorism. He dismissed the Indian External Affairs Ministry's insinuations as irresponsible and lacking evidence.

Furthermore, the spokesperson expressed concern over India's attempts to involve third countries in the issue, describing it as a reflection of India's lack of diplomatic confidence and a futile effort to exert pressure on Pakistan. He asserted that, unlike India's belligerent approach, Pakistan will continue to act responsibly within the international community.

The spokesperson concluded by warning that any act of Indian aggression or violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity would be met with an immediate and matching response, placing the responsibility for any escalation squarely on the Indian leadership.
